WFILM's Inaugural Online Film Festival
WFILM has a long history of discovering, celebrating and connecting diverse storytellers to audiences around the globe. Both emerging and high-profile filmmakers, directors and actors have chosen WFILM as a premiere venue and platform to showcase their work. This year, WFILM kicks off its inaugural Online Shorts Film Festival and Awards Competition – a celebration of big ideas, innovative storytelling, and excellence in media.
WFILM Online Film Festival is on a nationwide search for diverse talent in film, television, and digital content. We are looking for U.S. and international independent short films in various genres, such as episodic content, live action, animation, documentaries, independently-produced pilots, web series, VR, student films, and PSAs.
WFILM is seeking short films that champion diversity in front of and behind the camera from cast to crew, with an emphasis on character-driven stories by women, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ community, and voices traditionally underrepresented in the media industry. We invite submissions from emerging to established producers, editors, writers, directors, and perspectives that are often underrepresented in the media today.
Prizes will be awarded to finalists in the following categories: Director, Producer, Writer, and Editor. Finalists will receive an esteemed WFILM Award, reach global audiences, and win prizes like film production packages and professional development services that will help creatives take their career to the next level.
